“Only those who enjoy fun, good food and the wines of Alsace can become a confrère of Saint Étienne”.

When we read the first clause of the Confrérie de Saint Étienne, we instantly thought of you, dear adventurous explorer. This confrérie, or fraternity, based in the Château de Kientzheim in the Kaysersberg valley and dating back to the 14th century, includes friends of Alsace, its wines and its food from around the world. It encourages them to indulge in their passion for this exceptional terroir. When you arrive, head to the Vineyard Museum, which covers the different aspects to the life and work of Alsatian winemakers over the centuries. Then it’s time for an extended trip to the fraternity’s famous wine store prior to an introduction to wine tasting or a themed workshop. Check the fraternity’s programme on their website to see if your visit coincides with a chapitre solennel, or ceremonial chapter, one of the fraternity's famous evenings that combine wine tasting and fine dining.
