Domaine Céline & Frédéric Gueguen lies halfway between the vineyards of Chablis and Auxerre. Here the owners cultivate a wide range of climats - parcels of vines - with a singular passion for the riches of the wine-growing region of Chablis.

The very first harvest at Domaine Céline & Frédéric Gueguen was back in 2013, and the owners have put their heart and soul into showcasing the plethora of grape varieties planted over the 36 hectares of the estate. The sauvignon, aligoté, sacy, pinot noir and césar grapes thrive amidst the rows of vines - not to mention, of course, the star of the show, the much-vaunted chardonnay!

The story starts in the fields, where the painstaking work follows the traditions of winemaking and respects the soil. The grapes are cosseted and carefully selected before being vinified in vats made from 100% stainless steel. It’s a process that produces a genuine, honest appellation that reflects the terroir in all its splendour!

Céline and Frédéric are eager to share their craftsmanship and cuvées with as many people as possible, which is why they throw their cellar open to the general public. A host of tastings is organised based on a selection of five wines complemented by a choice of platters consisting of charcuterie, cheeses and gougères.

The estate also runs trips into the great outdoors so that participants can get to know the appellations and terroirs around Chablis in more detail. These excursions - on foot or by minibus - are a great opportunity to marvel at the beauty of the vineyard while gaining real insight into the profession of winegrower.

And, since the Chablis vineyard is brimming with treasures just waiting to be discovered, the owners invite visitors who are passing through to extend their holiday with a break on the estate. A number of apartments and two guests houses with garden provide all the peace and quiet you need for a bucolic break where you can soak up the region’s gentle lifestyle. With its small, picture-postcard villages surrounded by hills, and its vine-lined trails winding along forests paths, there’s no doubt about it: the area around Chablis has more than enough to win over curious and adventurous souls who want to escape from it all!
