With autumn here again, the winegrowers of Côte Chalonnaise invite oenophiles to visit the Paulée, the great festival that heralds the end of the grape harvest. A happy atmosphere sets the pulse racing in the vineyards and town of Chalon-sur-Saône for three days.

This event is rooted in the region’s traditions, apparently taking its name from the final shovel (“pelle”) full of grapes emptied into the press at the end of the harvest.

Today, it is first and foremost a byword for a fully-fledged hedonist marathon with a blend of wine tastings and gastronomic banquets.

All the ingredients are there for a weekend you’ll never forget: the parade of winegrowers’ guilds, trumpet players and photo exhibitions!
