Lying between the peaceful waters of the Saône and the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise, cradle of the AOC Bourgogne Aligoté, Château de la Villeneuve is a little patch of paradise.

This prestigious guest house occupies a magnificent building from the 19th century. The residence is flanked by two small towers, its proud silhouette rising above the vast parkland where plane trees, chestnuts, oaks and 100-year-old limes unfurl their majestic shade. Suffice to say that as soon as you arrive here, the change of scenery is all-embracing and conducive to relaxation!

Whether you’re passing through on the neighbouring cycle route or enjoying a holiday in the region, everyone is welcome to come and take a breath of fresh air at Villeneuve. The château considers it a point of honour to give travellers a warm and considerate welcome so that their stay is even more relaxing. In addition to the two light-filled bedrooms and the spacious suite, the hotel’s garden is home to a giant barrel where you can spend a most unusual night surrounded by greenery. A large 125 m2 veranda, called the Orangery, houses a hot tub, and gives access to the terrace, where armchairs and deckchairs beckon you to soak up the sun.

When evening comes, the château’s restaurant invites guests to revel in the flavours of Burgundy gastronomy based on market cuisine that highlights local products. And since we are in the land of wine, a Côte Chalonnaise wine list is also available during your meal so you can taste the local wines. You can even treat yourself to a private tasting in the château’s cellar in the company of a winegrower, enjoying a moment of shared pleasure as you savour three wines.

The château, which is located very close to the vineyard and Chalon-sur-Saone, is also the ideal starting point for a number of outings discovering the region’s wine and cultural heritage. With its mix of relaxation and escape, the venue certainly succeeds in combining the art of hospitality with Burgundy’s gentle pace of life.
