Château de Pressac: architecture and vines galore

Winner of the “Outstanding Offer” award at the 2024 Wine Tourism Trophies in the “Architecture and landscape” category, Château de Pressac has withstood the passage of time with great elegance.

This fine building, perched on a hillock towering over the vineyards, is an impressive sight with its neo-Gothic architecture and storied history. It was erected on the ruins of a château that was witness to the Hundred Years' War and Malbec’s arrival in the vineyard!

The edifice has just been supplemented by a new building following the inauguration of a half-buried cellar that blends seamlessly into the landscape.

The château opens its doors to visitors on tours of the property as well as for blind tastings of the domain’s wines, to eat and for private seminars.

Domaine Rolet

Winner of the "Outstanding Offer" award at the 2024 Wine Tourism Trophies in the "Art, culture & savoir-faire" category, Domaine Rolet’s mission is to turn the vineyards into a shared space that everyone can enjoy.

There are two circuits that outdoors types can follow on foot, horseback or bike as they head across the estate towards an amphitheatre of vines to enjoy a mâchon (a local gastronomic spread) typical of the Jura region.

As for architecture enthusiasts, their meeting-point is the estate’s cellar (with its 14th century vault) for a food and wine pairing based on cheeses and chocolates made by two master craftspeople - known as MOFs - from the region.

In summer, anyone with a whimsical touch will delight in the tastings under the stars, while music lovers will revel in the Rock'n'Rolet festival with its producers' market and wine bar.

La Cuverie de Vosne-Romanée by Comte Liger-Belair

The Cuverie de Vosne-Romanée, designed by the Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, won the "Exceptional Offer" award at the 2024 Wine Tourism Trophies in the "Stay at the domain and gastronomy in the vineyard" category.

This charming venue, which is open to one and all, houses a deli, café and wine bar (with 1,700 labels) under the same roof.

The best local wines sit alongside cuvées from other regions. The sole criterion for selecting them? They have to be either organic or biodynamic. As for nibbles, that means tasting the delicacies prepared by the producers next door, with charcuterie, cheeses, savoury spreads and soups to accompany the on-site tastings.

For anyone who would like to get to know the Côte-d'Orien vineyard better, the Cuverie de Vosne-Romanée boasts four guest rooms, a conference room and a dining room available for private hire!
