DAY 1 – Nantes

 

  • Visit of Goulaine's Castle

Renaissance castle dating from the late 15th century. 

 

Built in the early 17th century and surrounded by 43 hectares of vineyards and 5 hectares of woodland. 

 

  • Diner at "Don Quichotte" in Vallet

 

  • Overnight in Château d'Yseron in Vallet

The Yseron Castle offers calm and comfort surrounded by vineyards in Vallet, the heart of the Muscadet vineyards.

 

DAY 2 – Béhuard island, Layon Valley, Angers

 

  • Guided tour of Clisson and its castle

With its Italian-style architecture, Clisson is reminiscent of a Tuscan city.

 

  • Meeting with Mr. Benjamin Bellet from Sarmance, cosmetics brand made using organic vines

 

  • Arrival at Béhuard 

Small village home to La Chapelle Notre-Dame sur la Loire, a pilgrimage site, which is also a UNESCO world heritage site and is listed as one of France’s Ville Fleurie.

 

  • Lunch at “ La Croisette “ in Béhuard

« Guinguette » made of wood, dishes using the finest local ingredients, on the terrace or in the dining room.

 

  • Stroll on the island

 

Philip Fournier and his son, Julien, continue a winemaking tradition that began in these vineyards more than 800 years ago. The organically farmed estate sits in an extraordinary location, straddling the Loire River and stretching across five distinct appellations.

 

  • Diner at “Le Favre d’Anne” in Angers

 

 

DAY 3 – Gennes, Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent

 

12th-16th century priory dominating the Loire and the village, with a terrace and a unique panorama on the river.

 

Situated in Saumur on the banks of the River Thouet, a tributary of the Loire, Ackerman's cellars and warehouse combine the charm and landscapes of the Loire with the prestige of a major wine producer.

 

Restaurant located in old wine cellars, feast of specialties in the wood-burning oven. Next to the restaurant, a beautiful wine cellar to ferret out all the good flavors of the Loire Valley.

 

  • Discovery of the Saumur vineyard in WW combi with Loire Vintage Discovery

Wonderful discovery of the Saumur area aboard the famous Volkswagen Combi! A dive in the vintage atmosphere for an unusual excursion. 

 

  • Visit and wine tasting at Domaine de Rocheville

Domaine and Chai Eco-responsible in the middle of a vineyard dominating the Loire.

 

 

DAY 4 – Azay-le-Rideau, Bréhémont, Amboise

 

Visitors can discover what life was like in the 19th century by exploring the lounge, billiard room, counting house, kitchen, dining room and the Marquis of Biencourt library, all refurnished and reconstructed.

 

  • Lunch at the restaurant "La Cabane à Matelot" & quick visit of the factory with the fisherman Romain Gadais

 

Leonardo Da Vinci lived the last 3 years of his life in this Castle.

 

Rustic, homely and out of the ordinary are all words that could describe this place. At nightfall, the strings of multi-colored fairy lights light up, making this place even more romantic.

DAY 5 – Amboise, Bourré, Méry-sur-Cher

 

  • Visit of the royal castle of Amboise

The Royal Château of Amboise is part of the protected Historic Monuments since 1840. The valley’s river is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Just one hour from Paris, in the heart of the Amboise valley, the royal residence (from the end of the 15th century to the start of 16th century) and its landscaped gardens offer an exceptional panorama across the Loire valley.

DAY 6 – Sancerre, Montigny

  • Free time by car around Sancerre and in the village

 

 

  • Night at the B&B "La Reculée" in Montigny

 

DAY 7 – Sancerre

 

  • Visit of the cheese factory Dubois Boulay 

Discovery of the Chavignol goat cheese.

 

  • Lunch on a traditional boat "Le Raboliot" with wine tasting

 

 

 

  • Diner at the restaurant "La Tour" in Sancerre

 

  • Night at the B&B "La Reculée" in Montigny
